Street Rod time variances?

For you guys that run Street Rod, what is the time variance that you have noticed between tuning and running with traffic in the race?

hey Kinser....I don't have a track to check times without any one else on the track during tuning, however, looking back at my SR times from the past races, if im in the outer lane (which is as close as I can get to being on its own, the outer lanes are anywhere from .001 to .007 faster than when im in the middle lanes....

Some of it also has to do with the size of the car next to you as there are some monster tanks on the track at times LOL....if your not out in front of those by the bottom of the hill....you could get sucked into the wake of those monsters I think haha!

Mine ran anywhere from SLOW, to VERY slow to DEAD LAST...hahahaha

You weren't asking for much my cars vary a lot! Like WK said the lane you run in and the car next to you makes a big difference. You can expect a difference of .015-.030

I think it is VERY dependent on your body style as well as the ones next to you as people have mentioned. Andy and I have had a lot of shoot outs playing with Street Rods and his Mustang does measurably different in traffic than alone.

My suggestion, find the biggest, squarest, heaviest body style you can find and I personally GUARANTEE it will be affected the least by cars in the other lanes !

Well, since my SR is running some smokin' times (it would have broke the top ten in SS last month), I'll stick with it. /images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif
