Substitute for Walgreens Swab Stalks

I have found that Target's brand of Q-tip stalks work just as well as Walgreens (studio 52). Has a good fit, but one thing I will say is it's not 100% everytime. I did run into a few that weren't as tight, but for the most part the majority was. Just an FYI.

Has anyone tried using the polishing sticks at med speed with the #1 or Novus instead of the Q-tip stalk? I was wondering if it would polish the scratches out better if it didn't fit as tight.

On med speed I'd think you'd run the risk of heating the bore making it bigger. Sure it would polish it better on a higher speed, but at what cost of the bore itself expanding from the heat?
