Suggestions after Pack race and before District

yep it does make big different that's why I said that. What if u rolled down a window in your truck doing 100mph? wind has to go somewhere. you want a smooth air flow like a airplane wing. think corvette!!

Okay, then. You guys think it'll make that much difference? I knew about the fenders, and watched John's video of a car with and without, but didn't realize the arrow hole would hurt us much. But at District, I guess every little bit helps.

I believe District is about a 32 foot track, for what it's worth.

I race on a 32' wooden track. I bet that hole would slow you about .020 sec if left uncovered.

Cool car!

Wow, .02 is a pretty large amount, IMO.

Is that a open hole on the car? If so cover it with clear tape. That will help some.
Hole taped, and car passed inspection and is in impound, ready to race Saturday.

Prepped with Red Rocket today, and I must say it is slick. When I burnished with graphite, it barely left any behind like it usually does. One axle looked bad so had my son polish up a new one.

The inspection is lame. You could probably run lightened wheels and oil without a problem. But we have legal stuff, so maybe we'll have it tuned better. We'll see.

Good luck at today's race!

Won Cub division and overall District trophy for Speed!
He was very excited. Not so much when we got home and I took
the pics, though.
Close racing. Not as close in the Cub division, but the top Webelo car was fast...actually ran one time during the Webelo race that was faster than our best time, but then it slowed back down.
In the District overall final, they ran 3 rounds. We went 1, 2, 1 for the win. I wasn't watching the times for that. So 8 wins out of 9 rounds at Districts.

I really appreciate the tips, particularly the tape over the arrow hole in the car. If that truly was going to cost .02 seconds, probably wouldn't have won that overall Speed trophy.

This is it, no Council here. As a bonus, one of our Webelos won 1st for Craftsmanship.

The track owner there told me it was about 29'. I assume he meant from start to the finish, not the overall length...pretty sure it was a 32' overall. It was wood, 6 lanes, with a very glossy finish.
Our best run was 2.725. Worst was 2.747. Oddly, the first run was the 2.725, and the 6th was 2.729. The slower runs came in between.
Anyway, probably no way to estimate what it'd do on the NPWDRL track. I'm guessing well over 3 seconds. Too bad the track wasn't longer...the end was where he was really pulling away from everyone. I think the margin would have been a good bit larger if they had another 10' to go.

Glad to here from u. Great win. Glad I seen that whole in car. The tape trick worked again. I made that mistake before to.
