Hello,
I would like to thank Ed (B-Regal Racing) and crew (t-bone) on here for having me and my 9 year old son over to his house last night to school us on Pinecar building.
I was looking for a track to test 4 cars me and my son built for this Sunday’s derby race and saw by looking through the threads on here that Ed was Iocated within driving distance. I PMed Ed for his recommendation on a track and he graciously invited us to his house to test on his personal test track. B-Regal is a great guy, upon arriving at his house he showed my son several experiments in his garage explaining the science behind a fast car.
Next we were off to the basement to B-Regal’s amazing test track. We quickly found the two fastest cars from the group, one for my son and one for his friend that needed help building his car.
What happened next blew my socks off. B-Regal and his friend t-bone offered to build a ladder car with me and my son. I have been in scouts for several years with my other sons and we have helped a lot of other people, but have never had an offer to show us how to get to the next level building a car untill then. Naturally my son jumped at the offer, this started a pit crew build of a pine car that NASCAR would be proud of. For the next two and a half hours we were shown a totally different way of building a car. Saw dust went flying, wheels were polished, cubes were installed along with every thing from A to Z. The result was the green ladder car below. It was way faster on the track than the fastest of the cars we built at home which untill then was the pinnacle of our building knowledge. My son can’t wait until Sunday.
I would also like to thank everyone on this site for sharing there knowledge, I have been a stalker on here this week reading threads and learned quickly there was so much more to learn. Thank you DerbyDadforhire, I just ordered some more stuff from your site (Ed now has me hooked on the ladder builds).
Sorry about the long post, but anything worth saying is worth a long long time to say.
