This past Saturday my son and daughter won 1st place for speed in their classes and it wouldn't have happened without this forum and all of you, so I want to say Thanks!! I have learned so much from all of you and racing with you all is a blast!

Both cars are rail runners and we used what came in the kits and trying to drill the canted holes in those blocks was a real challenge since I don't currently have the Silver Bullet. The first practice night both cars were really fast and then that was when we realized the stop section on the 35' track wasn't able to stop them and we took some damage. A couple of days later we had them fixed and hoped for the best, but I don't think my kids slept very well the night before and you will see some tired looking faces.

Thanks everyone!! The best part was my son's car set a new track record and I don't remember that happening at our race from anyone for a long time. I had one father ask me if I was using high octane fuel in his car. Now here is the funny part, I don't think anyone had ever seen a rail runner before because we had people asking us if the kids dropped their cars because of the way the DFW looked and we kept hearing I don't think those cars will run good with that front axle bent that way.

The following day I was asked if I would help teach at a workshop to show the parents and kids how to build faster cars. So, once they decide when the workshop will be I will be leading them to this site and John's products.

Thanks! I don't know why they don't use the Awana kits, but every year they hand out BSA kits.

Thanks davet! I would not be where I am today without all of the great racers who took their time with me to answer many of the questions that I had, and for that I truly say thank you to all. This is the best place to learn and make many new friends along the way. I am not one of the fastest racers here and I am still learning, but I will gladly help anyone that I can.
