Absolute no disrespect implied or intended here but you guys know the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day right?

This looks like a fun place to bring in some thought provoking discussion
Do the Confederate soldiers who died during the Civil War deserve to be honored for their service? They were part of the Confederate USA. So by US law they were committing treason. Or they died fighting just like our founders did against Great Britian?

Traitors and hero's are measured by which side your on and/or who won.
Kinser 'Ol Chap, way to stay politically correct. Are you going to next tell me that King Hussein is a worthy commander in chief?

I do agree with you. Its all about perspective. I was just curious if others had thought about it.
Kinser is right history is written by the victors. particularly the version taught in K-12.
King Hussein is no better or worse than any of the others at that level. Congress is the real problem. Those guys can't agree on anything and therefore nothing gets done. Worthless all of them

I do know the difference between veterans day and memorial day. I attended a parade like I do every year. We all stand up and applaud for the Gold Star Mothers. But I also thank my fellow vet's because it just feels good...and God knows they deserve it.
I started this thread not to be PC, but going through what had happened over the last week here in Omaha, I was feeling the need to say thanks. In fact it made me realize I had never told my father straight up Thanks for his service, which I corrected immediately.
