This may be an impossible question to nail down with much accuracy, but in a perfect world, and all things being equal. a car running 2.99 on a 42 ft track would compare to what on a 35 ft track? 2.59- .54?

If you were to remove a section and turn the exact same track into a 35 ft track, you would get the following times

TrackCartime
best42 tracknewsetBASX2.99
best42track newset if 35ftBASX2.50

Makes sense..... Trying to get an ideal what my car would have to run at district. I know it is running 2.99 on a 42 ft best track, But was curious how that would compare to a 35 foot track. I saw some numbers that were mid 2.57 2.56 that won district ... but appears to be a 35 foot track they ran on. My boy is running a bigger body car thus the lag. He is only eight but wanted a car that looked good and ran well...

I have the same problem. We run on a 35' best track in our pack, a 32' wooden track at district, and a 49' best track at council. Such is life...

To amplify the difficulty of attempting to be so precise, I run our Pack races on my own 35 ft BestTrack. My house is not level, I think the Gym floor is level- at least pinball test looked good. Anyway- without the Cubs seeing times I computer record them during testing at my house to help catch any serious problems.
Same track moved to a gym and I have never had the fastest car during testing win at the Pack, always some car that was 2nd or 3rd runs faster. Individual cars at the gym run much slower- 0.02 to 0.04 sec on good rail runners- way worse on random alignment.

We are riding the rail ..and I am pretty happy with the car... just hoping to make it out of pack and to district... and maybe be competitive there
