Track rental?

Does anyone oh here rent there Pack track out for other Pack/districts to use? Our pack is about to venture into this, I'm just wondering of those who do what are any issues you have ran into? how much is the average charge?

we don't plan to rent the track as in letting them pickup and then return our idea is to included in the price there would be two people from our pack go and set up and be there for the races

Our track is a 6 lane bestrack, champ timer, laptop for software
We plan to use the income to upgrade to some add on pieces to the track (extended stop section, leveling feet, auto start gate ect...)

We loan out our track to a couple of different packs. The deal is that I go with the track to set up and take down.
We do not charge a set amount for use of the track. Normally, the other packs will make a small donation to our pack but it is not expected.
I love attending the different pack races and donate my time.

Back when my two sons were in Cub Scouts, their pack bought a new track and timer setup. They paid it off by running races for other packs. They charged $250 for large/medium packs and $200 for smaller ones. Our pack would setup the track, run the computer, get the cars ready for each heat, and do the tear down. The packs would do the rest. We had the track setup paid off within 1-1/2 years. The extra income went to buying a projector for the races and the rest towards pack events.

I will add that what to charge really can vary by area. I have heard of the typical charge in other areas being less. You might want to see if anyone else is providing that service in your area and see what they are charging.
