I thought at first it was a fluke, as I've lathed wheels in years past (I'm a newbe on a lathe though), and never had this issue before. As I turn the wheels, about half, the half nearest the car of the tread bows out and becomes a few thousands "wider" increasing the diameter of the wheel on half the tread.
And, as if to really throw me a curve-ball, the part that's bowing out doesn't get cut at a given distance while the part of the tread that's not bowing out does lose material as I turn the wheel.
For those that understand machining, it's probably an easy fix, but I'm lost on this one....
