In tuning tonight we got our best time of 3.038 but with a bad case of wiggles. Addung steer got rid of the wiggles but yielded 3.050s. I opted to leave it for hopes a stable car will be better on the districts freedom track. Testing was done on a 42'track BT. Hope i made the right choice?

Im worried to do anything as my track is 20 miles away and now all i have is a shelf board to roll on. Race is in the a.m.

What is your rear wheel spacing between the hub of the wheel and the car body? You might be able to make an adjustment there???

Just checked COM and its 5/8". Wheel gaps were moved in to less than 1/32 in the rear and dfw is relatively tight as well. These got me the best stable times, staging the car haphazardly and centered. I just checked steer on the board and it steers 4-5 inches in 45". But any less steer on my Best Track had poor times or the wigglies with the best time of 3.038. Thanks for your help, this tuning is harder than i thought

Against my better judgement i moved COM to 3/4" and turned the steer down significantly. I sure hope i did ok.

I bet you did fine. A freedom track should be more stable than a best track. At least the transition is more mild.

I tune with a 4' shelf. I place a piece of tape on the bottom and role of tape underneath for a slope. I mark on the tape the steer. Works great. Oil or graphite?

you did the right thing by moveing the COM to 3/4. That shoud help alot and W racing is right about a freedom track that is what we race on and its alot more friendly than the best track as for transition. GOOD LUCK ! my district race is next weekend still trying new things.

We placed 2nd at the district race, losing only to our good friends (with a fendered and rear shortened front lengthened car). All in all pretty happy with the outcome. But the grudge race will continue on my best track!

I should have left everything alone, and we'd have your (o mans) trophy /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif
