USPS

I have been trying all week to print my return shipping label off the USPS website with no luck. Is anyone else having this issue? I have no fedex or UPS in my small town, so I am out of ideas here. Any help or advice with this would be greatly appreciated. I have tried 3 differrent computers? Thanks!

I wasn't able to print a label on the postal site, either! I took the package to my work and had the girls put postage on it, BUT, I didn't need a return label.

hey...I had similar problem last night but figured it out...

first thing, make sure you have Internet Explorer 8 or higher.

Next, they changed the site a bit (its not as user friendly)....after you fill in the addresses to send to and from, you click the box under flat rate mail, .... now here is where its different and not that obvious...you have to fill in the box that asks how much the package is worth....if you do not do this then the table below it wont show an option....if you do fill it in then the next area shows a table that allows you to click a box that essentially allows you to pick options for the size of the flat rate box. Once you do that then a box is present below that allows you to continue on to the next page....

I spent at least an hour figuring out and like you went to different computer, updated my system, restarted etc....until I realized that one small box on estimated value NOW has an * by it that must be filled in....

Try this and see....if that doesn't work then Im not sure but I was able to print out all my labels after that.

One thing that I learned the hard way that may help somebody...If you screw up or if your printer was off or malfunctioned when the USPS site completed your print transaction or if for any other reason there is a mistake, you can clink the refund button but only on the same day as you ordered your label/postage. You have to wait a while for refund but no questions asked.

For those that have printed out the labels already, what kind of travel time is being indicated on the labels? Usually when I print the label it indicates 2 or 3 day Priority Mail. I was just wondering if times indicated are longer than usual. Thanks

Wow, that was very painful. Took me an hour to print my labels.

To answer your question, my boxes will ship on Friday and arrive on Tuesday
ok
[ maybe ] at least I have a few days to spare.....SPIRIT.....

I think the shipping should be like shipping to the MOTM championship race.

I ship out from a post office where I work and it is 2 day Priority mail because it goes out of the West Sacramento Ca. hub. If I ship from where I live 30 miles away it goes out of the Oakland Ca. hub and is 3 days. That extra day cost me an additional $1.93 also for the return trip.

Monday is a postal holiday. If you ship on Saturday you should be ok but with winter weather you never know. I did not want to chance it and worked on the premise shipping Saturday was too close for my comfort. Since I prefer not to work on cars at night after work I had to finish last weekend so the cars went out way early. They shipped on Wednesday and are supposed to arrive Friday the 14th. That gives me a full week cushion time.

I think the same....I always tack on at least 2 or 3 days just in case, particularly if its near a major holiday or during winter time....then I add one extra day to that just because I live on an island in the middle of the pacific ocean where it takes minimal 5 hours just to reach California and heaven forbid there is any delays coming out of Hawaii which is not that uncommon lately....

Ive read even Fed Ex is having delay problems because of this cold front that is moving thru the states...

I do wonder what ultimately is the effect on our cars sitting idle in boxes doing nothing for a few days (or some worst case scenarios being kicked around like a football during shipping which I think we all agree certainly doesn't help any LOL).... does cutting it as close as possible minimizes those chances, but if look at from a more general opposite view....you cant race if you don't have a car there... so ill always send in earlier than later....

of course the best would be if I could just get myself to hop on a plane and fly over to the races with my cars in hand! Heck, I bet John would let a bunch of us camp out in his backyard and tune on the track a few days before the race if we asked nicely!

I am considering flying in for Nationals however....

I'm from that area. Born and raised 15 miles from west Sac. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

Isn't Honolulu the secluded populated area in the world?

I shipped mine yesterday. Just because mine never made it to the MOTM race. I was not taking any chances this time. So hopefully mine will make it if not then I will be next owner of USPS. My label said package should be there on Tuesday we will see.
