I'm more than happy to support DD4H, but just wanted to know the difference between the two products. Is the Silver Bullet better suited for beginners / occasional enthusiasts?
Basically the same tool. I have always been a strong supporter of doing your own thing and not copying other peoples work. In this case, I built my business around The Block. I spent years and weathered many storms trying to prove its value. You could say it separated me from the rest of the industry and got me locked off every other website and message board. It is still the premier tool at this point and I had to have a version to replace it. The Silver Bullet is basically an unannodized version. There are plans for future upgrades to be introduced towards the end of the year. This is going to be a great year for advancement of pinewood derby.
Ok I understand how to use it for when you want to go extended wheel base
what about when you must use the slots like for a Girl Scout event and Boy Scout event. Do you just set the Silver Bullet up and drill into the slots
Or am I missing something
i have not tried that, but what does work is this:
drill a set of holes in the same place that the slots would be, then use 2 hacksaw blades taped together to cut a slot under the drilled holes. problem solved.
well now that I have a drill press from Harbor Freight/ I am going to try both ways
I used cooping saw blades should I use hacksaw blades is there a difference
