Wheel reprep

Ran Rage wheels with 92x , red rocket then DDFH oil. Car sat in its box till today. Want to get ready to run a open class at Pack meeting. What is the proper way to re prep my setup?
Clean axles with alcohol. Wash wheels with dawn dish soap then re wax?

wash wheels with car wash soap (meguiars, mothers, or similar). This wax wont strip your wax from your wheels.

Why do you not want to remove the old wax and then re wax with fresh wax? After the car wash soap cleaning do you still wax?

I look at it like getting layers of wax on a car. more protection, and slicker.

So, you don't want to strip out the old wax, and yes, add more wax after you clean your wheels.

I agree with Mojo but I would run the car to see if it has slowed down first. No point in reprepping the car if it is still running top speed. Some cars can last for months.

I agree with HurriCrane on a prep lasting a few months or more, they can. Test before reprepping. It's sometimes hard to get that same speed back into it.

Can you change a graphite wheel into an oil wheel with re prepping?

No. Once graphite is used it cannot be used with oil.

Ok so my oldest sons scout car has lost some speed. The wheels are prepped w/ black ice. The car was dropping out the gate like a brick, wow. The first 10 runs on our test track we're putting up the fastest times we've seen. Now for some reason it's not dropping as well and is at least a hundredth of a second slower. What's going on? Did the prep run out that quick or is something else the culprit?
