Wheels and outer hub

is it better to remove the step on the outer hub with a tool like the pro hub tool or to leave the step and sand it smooth? It seems to me that having the step would reduce wobble on a wheel.

Love to hear some professional thoughts on this

Don't use derby worx tools on your wheels. If you are allowed to buy wheels or have a lathe, remove the double step.

I don't have a lathe and don't feel right buying wheels. This is not the first time I have read someone mention derby worx tools as bad..What will the pro hub shaver actually do to the wheels?
