I noticed the newer kits have 8 grits of paper and the older kits have 10 grits. It appears the older kits included 800 grit and a very fine green sheet with no marking. Anyone know what grit the green paper is.

The green was 60,000 grit. In my opinion the 12,000 grit did a better job combined with the rising cost of the paper made it a thing of the past. I added the axle polish to finish them off.

I thought the same thing, it looked like I was using the grits out of order it so I thought I would ask. I was getting better shine from stopping at 12000

John, I agree my axles also look better at 12000, but the cars I did first with 60000 plus polish ran faster in the pack race. I know there are a 100 other factors to speed. I assume your testing has shown 12000 plus the polish is best for graphite?

PS. Wish I had a test track
