Thanks PapaV. We threw the cars together within a very short time frame and the oil car was a real turd. It was slower than the graphite car. So we were pretty stoked to have at least placed.

We got our box as well. Foreground trophies are this years. 3rd in class and 7th overall in graphite. Jr was happy and screaming. In the background are last year's trophies for comparison. They all look nice.

Excellent Greg, great to hear. I can imagine it was a ton of work. Can't wait to get the shipment. It was like Christmas last year when we were opening the box with all of the goodies in it.

Gleep, look into getting the transport boxes like John sells. I forgot what the foam is, but it's kind of compressed/hard and you can cut it to shape and lock the car into place. Makes shipping a breeze.

Here you go Maglev, the final standings. I happened to do a quick screen shot when they posted it. Jr's car came in 7th (gained a spot during final round). We're pretty happy given the beat down put on everyone in the Scout oil class. Those times were unbelievable. We've been super busy...

Hey Greg, with the addition of the open Scout graphite class, can a Scout enter a car in each the oil and graphite or do they have to pick just one open Scout class to run in?

To Kinser's point, I think we often forget or take for granted the knowledge that is shared on this forum. I consider myself to have a mediocre skill set, but I was surprised to see the reactions of a few dads at a scout race when talking about wheel/axle prep, riding the rail, or weight...

I think the vid is pretty good and am going to send it out to some other people who were asking a lot of questions at the last scout derby. Agree, that'd be awesome to have a lathe.
