    Question about run times

Thanks to the tips of this forum the Graphite lasted until the end. I let early races break the graphite in, so I was faster in the finials than in the first six runs. A gamble but it paid off...

    Question about run times

Just wondering what everyone's times are on a Best Track 42, BSA rules? Our race is tomorrow and hoping for some good runs. We raised the bar last year with a 2.97777 time, which is the track record. I am hoping our Ladder Car, first ladder racer, will have similar/better times. However...

Benefits of ultralight / ladder bodies

This happens every year at our Pack Race. Scouts love to smash the cars together and see the results, normally a crying father in the corner.... My fix for this problem was to let my son build a "Tank" Car that is almost a simple block with 10 oz of weights in it and Tungsten bumper. As to...

    Question about run times

This happened to my son's car last year... It got faster and faster even in the finals. Which worked out great as it needed the extra speed to beat out the other cars. Most of which were very fast.

    wheel prep for graphite

Quick question on the Axle prep. After sanding the axles from 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000 then using the next level polish. Do you then prep with pledge or was Next Level the finial step? For a Graphite Car....

    Feedback on Ladder Bodies

Quick question on this ladder car, how did you secure the tungsten cubes to the body? Is epoxy enough to hold the 5 or 6 cubes with only two side of wood to the body? Or did you use a cover of some sort?

Any last minute advice in terms of graphite?

I am watching this tread as my Son's race is coming up this month. Last year I believed I over did it on the graphite, his car kept getting faster and faster with each run... Six runs on Rank and Six runs on Pack Championship... We still won but ...

    Car Width

I did the taper the full way down the car... BUT it was because of a poor power sanding issue.... Lucky I have the SBE and this forum, now able to save the car. Which I put some blood, sweat, and now tears into...

    Car Width

I will give it a try. We are making three cars, so we can experiment with different styles.

    Car Width

I know this has been covered but can't find the answer on the forum... What is the ideal Car Width? Rules state that it has to be 1 - 3/4 Inches between wheels so it clear the guilds. Should I just leave this alone or shave off as much as possible? I thought I read somewhere that the car...
