Evidently not the case in Iowa. If I challenge it, I would have to appear in court in Des Moines. That would be another 1800 miles of driving round trip. So I'm thinking it would be cheaper and easier to pay the fine. They probably target out of staters for that very reason.
Lol...I obviously got a lot more speed on my trip home after Mid-America race. Five days after the race I got a speeding ticket in the mail from Des Moines, Iowa. Apparently they caught my license plate number and speed on one of their highway cameras.
I doubt that anyone has a best track and I would hate to run out to someone else's house to test a car every time we make one. Some of our packs in the area have aluminum tracks (not sure if they are best tracks). Our Council ran our district race on a plastic track with a blanket at the end...
Hey Joe, that's awesome you guys did well at the races!. My grandson did finish 11th in the open Scout graphite, Bear's division. His friend finished 9th in the same division. My wife noticed that the grandson's car had a wiggle to it...I'm going to have to build a better test track because I...
Hey, I think I'm in the Peanut Gallery...lol...actually, I haven't raced in any league events but I have gotten a lot of good information and advice on hear. I can't believe how little I knew about this stuff before I found your forum.
Hi Joe, the winners in the open Scout race I was told used sliders on the wheels. I had tried to find clear ones but couldn't. Hopefully, next year we'll do better. I also noticed they sanded the fender to a sharp front edge, instead of leaving them squared off or rounding them. I'll have try...
I am sorry to say...I did not get to watch the Seahawks or the Moana cars, I was too busy trying to console my grandson, texting my wife with updates and instructions on how to find the live feed and texting our friends who had cars in the race who kept asking if I saw the wiggle in their car...
Well we didn't do too well in the races but all of the people we met and spoke with at Mid America were awesome to us. Everyone was Great !!! Greg Dawes and his wife especially, made us feel like family.
You'd better save that hwkzrul car for our bet at next year's race...lol
