    Billy's Red Neck Do It For Dale A B C D E's Of PWD

Some of the BEST new ideas come from outside the industry! I have always believed this. Too often people just get caught in what works. Someone from outside doesn't always think the same and has not been engrained in a certain way to do things. Unfortunately most of my "new" ideas have already...

Creating The Ruleset For Your Pinewood Derby Race

Creating The Ruleset For Your Pinewood Derby Race

John, You have a great start to the list of bad rules! (That sounds kind of strange when I read it) I will add this: 7) No washers attached to the side of the car. And you are correct when you say that bad rules are a Pinewood Derby’s enemy. They need to be clear and concise with no...

This is unfortunate! Thanks for keeping everyone informed. The reality is that everyone’s health is more important than having the race (did I just say that out loud?). Everyone stay safe and healthy! :)

Billy's Red Neck Pin Gage Predicament, Precision, Place and Price

I like 0.089 pins for checking the drill. I feel they keep the axle hole a bit tighter. I figure that I can always open them up a bit if needed. Here are the 1-2-3 blocks in use .....

Billy's Red Neck 4 Hire Tutorial:How To Get The Most Out Of Your Legend Box.Don't Waste A Thing

Make sure to check for any tiny pieces of the foam that might get into the bore! They will kill the speed! I would suggest if you are going to do this, that you blow the plug off VERY thoroughly before getting anywhere near the wheel.

So which size file do you use with this? I have seen people claim that some are loose in the fixture and don't work the best?

Billys Red Neck Mad Hatter Hideous Hanger & Terminal Toothpick Trauma; Not For The Weak Of Heart

I agree with what this says! It would have to be off a lot (probably 8-10 degrees) to ruin the car.

    How to shorten Axles

I am not a pro, but I agree with this ... if you only need .040”-.060”, then you can shorten using just the grinder. Be sure to sand/smooth any rough edges so you don’t damage a bore while installing an axle.
