Done with AWANA where the axle heads are easier to access Billy is upgrading his took bag and needs your help. Having recently purchased some trick wheels and axles where the axle heads are recessed. Which tool is preferred ?

For me, neither. I cut a k-house groove on every axle head. Using a regular screwdriver to twist the axle, put gentle pressure on the inner wheel edge. That should be enough to get the wheel / axle assemble off. Twist and press. Twist and press. Twist and press.
G body....what's your method of cutting thee groove ?

X2. But I still use the pliers on occasion for inserting the axle or pulling it the rest of the way out once the k-house groove and screwdriver has loosened it and brought it our some. Of the two options in the poll the pliers are the better investment and tool imo.

BTW learning a new lingo as well.......X2 ????

I use the same setup as B_Regal, but I also use the #4 Screw Equalling File as well. I first use the #4 slot file then the equalling file to clean the slot up.. works really nice. They are expensive and thin, so if you drop something on one you can break them very easily. I knows this.. because I dropped a screw driver on my Equalling file broke the end off. Luckily it's just the end of it and it can be still used.
