I have been a member on this site for almost 2 years. I have really enjoyed the time here and all that I have learned. I truly have made good friends and have found joy in this hobby. I look forward to the new improvements I can make each and every day while I learn from you guys. I have a bright spot no matter the day I'm having. I used to come here just for PWD tips and tricks, i now come for friendship and fun, as well as the good stuff!

Many of you guys have thanked me for the videos and such, this is really cool of you guys to say, although I feel like the kid who tries out for American Idol and his parents told him his whole life he could sing and they laugh him out the stage. You guys are enablers!

My buddy Maglev told me I should put all my videos in a web site so new racers can watch. I can't believe how quickly I have changed the way we build, current info gets outdated quickly but I would have loved to see some of this stuff in video form as a bran newbie.
So, here is my 1,000th post, it's a gift to the new guys as we all know the veterans have much better secret techniques anyway, but this is for the blue collar racers, it's my rookie season, it's what I worked on while posting 1,000 freaking times! Happy new year boys!

It's a work in progress.... www.bulldogpwd.com

Great site Bulldog and an excellent idea. This will be a huge help to the newcomers and entertaining on top of that. You have become a huge asset to the sport of PWD racing. I know it is greatly appreciated by all of us.

Glad to know nothing is in the "dog house". Very nice of you to put that together. The way your wife is so supportive, my guess is the dog house section will be empty for a very long time./images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

Bulldog, that is great thank you so much for taking the time to put it together. In a short time you have had a very positive impact on our hobby!! Happy New Year to you and your family!!!

True! Bulldog's making it too easy on these new guys! Lol
Just kidding! Nice looking website Mike!
Thanks for all that you do for the hobby!

I think it will be very cool for new racers to have bench marks to attain, AKA speed badges. I'd say 98% of racers will never win a league race, so I believe interest will be retained longer if there is recognition for accomplishments.

+1 - I totally agree!!!

Belt system in martial arts, Freshman, J.V, Varsity in prep sports, rank in the military and scouts, years staying married, size and weight of the fish you catch, are all bench marks that will sometimes keep folks interested in participating a little longer.

I agree with you Bulldog, 100%. The speed badges were always something to strive for. Each time you reached one plateau it made you work all that much harder to reach the next.

That makes sense. You know how fast it can get out of hand though? Pretty soon everybody has one, and if everybody has one, nobody has one. What does it matter?

I personally do not care about speed badges. I only used them initially to weight the validity of the response given here to questions that were asked, but even doing this was in error, as there are many that do not seem to have the badges I know they earned.

I keep statistics on my cars and the results, which is what motivates me, not speed badges. But if you have speed badges and you like them, there's nothing wrong with them.
