Well I have been building 3 AWANA cars for myself, wife and son the past 3 weeks. My car and sons car were the wedge design as my wife wanted something different. What does she want you guessed it a table. The table was for the last supper. Let me tel you it turned out very nice pictures to follow soon.
The race was tonight on a homemade track from had to be from the 70's seriously. Well we ended up sweeping 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Got called out and said I cheated. To prove them wrong I took the last place car took the wheels off cleaned them pulled my handy dandy bottle of DD4H graphite put it back together. You guessed it raced that car against some of the other cars. Then being the nice guy as I am I said who is cheating now. Maybe shouldn't have said that at church but I was mad. Anyway I took our trophy's and walked out.

Wow! You were called a cheater in church??? That's wrong!! You handled it way better than I would have.

It was tough not to blow in church. But, when I prove them wrong once the graphite came out. The looks on their faces was priceless. Like I said after that I picked up the trophy's and walked out.

Kinda makes you wonder if the guy that called you out was cheating himself - I was cheating and you beat me so you MUST be cheating too!

Congrats on the finish!, sorry you had to deal with the sore losers.

Step back non-believers, or the rain may never come. I for one believe in the Godfather's products wholeheartedly. It is funny how competitors how plenty of energy to claim that you are cheating, but they have zero energy to put in the time and effort it takes to perform well. Hold your head up high and carry your hardware proudly!

Hoo Yahhh -

On all three wins ... You won the race .. You won the point of cleaning and using graphite on the wheels again and you won being the bigger person afterwards .. Not to mention you got those trophies and walked .. I bet that had them stumped ....

Sometimes it takes a bigger person to see the right thing to do and you were that one ....

It was tough. But, calm head proved to be the answer. The guy that called me out his daughter had won the last 3 years. So I think he was looking for a 4 peat but didn't get it. I got 6 phone calls today from other people wanting to know what I did to make the cars as fast as they were. I told them hard work and the right product go along way.

one guy asked what was in that little bottle I pulled out. I told him magic dust. He said no seriously what was it? I said again magic dust from a the Godfather. He says are you serious? I said yes. So goes where can I buy some that magic dust? I just laughed and told him to go to John's web site and look for magic dust. I am waiting on a phone call from him to tell me he couldn't find magic dust. Or John is going to get an e-mail from this guy.

It just goes to show you that everybody wants to know the secrets on how to go fast. But, aren't willing to go the extra mile and figure things out on their own. I takes trials and tribulations to get where you need to go. I will help anybody out that is just the way I am. But, first you must try things on your own.

There is a couple people on this site have help along the way. But, first they made me try things on own. I Thank them for that. I would not be where I am at today if not for them. By no means am I expert at this but I am still learning and adjusting this little hot rods we race. Thanks to everybody on this site for what they do for our Pinewood Derby sport. You guy's are awesome.
