I've never used fenders before and want to try them for Districts. Are these big enough? The have the recess on bottom to clear the track.

Nice looking car!

I would put some clear tape over the body openings so you can have clean air running over and under the car, may be worth a couple of thousandths. Clean straight air is faster than disturbed airflow.

Thanks. Sorry about the double post; I thought I was editing the first one and I guess I quoted it instead by mistake. I asked my boy if he wanted to put packing tape over the car prior to the Pack race but he said no. He's had his heart set on this cut out design since just after last years race. Not sure I could get the tape to stick real well to the bottom because the side rails are not perfectly smooth underneath (drilled then grooved to shave weight). If I put clear tape on the top only will it just cause the air to trap underneath? Basically, is it better to leave top and bottom open so air can flow thru rather than tape just one side? What happens to that bottom tape on the braking section?

Should they be a little longer with a less gradual angle? ROCKETCAR, I see your rears are much longer. I looked at John's on his site and his rears looked about like what I have.
Should they be tighter to the wheels? My plan is to align it then when that's done I'll epoxy them on.

USA, USA, USA!
I think the fenders are just a hair high on top but they look pretty close.
My thoughts are that the air wants to be directed with the fenders, but the top of the wheels should complete the arc.
If given the option to tape only one side I would think that the top would do more work.
Try to talk him into both though. Maybe you can trap something in between the two layers tape, within the void to sell him on the idea.
It is Always tough trying to convince the client to do the right thing.

I'll see if I can position them differently to lower them or else I'll cut the top down. Thank you.

Seems like this is about the best I can do. Test wheels and axles which is why you'll notice the slot cut into the head of the raised wheel axle.

LOL!!! I knew you would like that last sentence Kinser.

Naturally I am referring to building advice that you gave me in the past, that took so long for me to heed.

I'm confused. Your lifted front wheel has the k-house groove and your front drive wheel doesn't . What's up with that? It's seems to me you have them backwards. P.s. Your rears look fine.
smile

Just test axles and wheels. I used them in no particular position.
