2011 Man of the Mountain Championship Finals Results!

Congrats Kinser, John Niice Job With the Race!
I hope to be in the big race next year, God I miss it!

I am the new guy in league racing, so having said that I can only hope to get up to speed in 2012 and try to compete with such an outstanding group of craftsmen.

Kinser I do not know you or the other guys but look forward to meeting new friends. What an impressive victory! Congratulations!

John you have defined what it is to be a man of character and perseverance in light of what has happened in the last couple of weeks. You deserve a standing ovation for making sure the thousands of hours the racers put in to compete at this level get to finish the season with a championship race.

A truly magnificent ending. 2012 will be fun!

By the way thanks for all of the help to my questions, you guys are great.

Well I don't know how coherent this post will be, but the last couple of days were great!!! It is so nice to be able to put face's to names and realize how great you guys are even in person!! It was truly a great race. If we keep just the 2 lanes and heads-up racing No more 6 runs, 4 would cut some serious time. The 12 hour marathon was fun but I can still now barely keep my eyes open. Kinser, JAC, Sogone, Obsession, Cam Car, and DD4H you all rock. And many thanks to every one who has helped me along this year. I look forward to learning and speeding some more this coming year. I cant wait to get the race platform set and the racing started this will be the best PWD racing venue period!!

Congrats Kinser. Well deserved by one of the nice guys of our hobby. Congrats to all you 14 that made the finally. It was a fun time in chat and looking forward to the new season now.

Congratulations to all the racers. It was a fun night, but long, long, long. Thanks Derby Dad for making it happen.
Way to go Kinser!

First of all, a BIG THANK YOU to John for all of the hard work he put into this race! This was a "Man of the Mountain" feat all of it's own! That was one smooth track!

Also, thanks to Dave (Sogone) for making the best PWD staging platform. When the night started to get long, it was great to stand on a platform you knew you couldn't fall off of!

All of the live racers were great, and it was fun keeping up with some of the online chatter as well. While the race may have been long, everything ran smoothly, and without a hitch....VERY professional!

I must say that everyone, including all of the proxy guys, brought their best for this race. The times people were laying down were without a doubt the new benchmark in speed.

I can't wait to see what happens next season, as everyone will need to fine tune their game to get to the top, or to stay there. There are so many talented builders right now that it will be hard to claim victories month to month. It definitely will be exciting!

Finally, I would like to congratulate Kinser for the win, and JAC and Quicktime for their overall strong performance in finishing #2 and #3. The race was exciting all the way to the end, as JAC nearly came from behind to take the title with his smokin' fast Slammr'. I'm coming for you guys next year!

Got to say it was an honor taking part in the greatest race in PWD history! John big thank you for going WAY above and beyond to give us a excellent venue and race. The track was dialed in!! Congratulation again Kinser, you put on a clinic. I never seen so much nail biting in my life, Kinser's nails will probably take a year to grow back. Obsession, Jac, Quicktime thanks for sharing your building tips and it was a kick hanging out till what 4:00 am three days in a row

Thanks for the compliments guys! A big congrats to all the racers in "The Man of the Mountain Championship. It was really close. Ya, I was nervous and exhausted. There was 2k on the line, that's not chump change. All of you guys were great! I learned a lot myself. Remember the lucky penny I told you all about, that I found on Johns driveway. In addition, Kinser Racing got to be #11! lol /images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif

I also am finally coming back around. I was so exhausted I fell asleep 2 times driving back from taking Dave to the airport! That was an incredible race. There is not one chance I could have pulled it off without the guys that came live. I am in debt to you guys. That was without a doubt the very best pinewood derby had to offer and there is NO DOUBT next year will be way harder than this year to win. I want to also thank you guys for sticking with me when the going got rough. I have to get back to work now. I will post 2012 info tonight! I will also try to get videos up tonight.

We wouldn't of been able to race with out you!!! Thanks again for making it happen!!! Anytime you need my help you know I am there.

John,

Thanks for your continued passion for the sport of Pinewood Derby Racing. There is no doubt what has transpired over the past month was probably one of the toughest things any man would have to endure. I'm proud of you for holding it together through the transition and re-birth of the racing league. Let alone pulling off the MOTM marathon race on such a short notice, are you sure your human? Its obvious the NPWDRL consist of a group of racers who enjoy the competition and camaraderie. Most of all we like supporting DD4H, you've been very helpful to a lot of racers and it has not gone unnoticed. Thanks again!

PS. If you don't get the videos and info posted tonight I believe we will let you slide. Take a moment for yourself brother, we are not going anywhere
