Alright, I`m building a GTX and I`m at the point of adjusting the com. Most of my tungsten is behind the rear wheels however my com is at 1 inch. I was going to shoot for 3/4 but i didnt want to put any more behind the rears. What would be a desirable com for a 4 on the floor rail rider? What coms are you guys getting?

Good question. When building 2 SRs last year (one of which placed first in June Nationals), I found out that because of the length and extra weight at the front, I had to load all my weight behind the axle. Because of the heighth of the body, I even put some tungsten cubes on top of the others. Even then, the COM was high. We will see how it works out, but I am doing the same this year.

However, COM is of small importance this year. getting the steer right with four wheels touching is going to be the major challange, the the one who figures that out will be the winner, no matter the COM.

For the first race I stayed pretty conservative, 3/4-1.0 inch. Opa is right about the correct setup but I feel COM is going to have more to do with it than on previous SR. Steer is relative to COM, More aggressive COM, the more aggressive steer is needed. Less COM, less steer. I only have a couple runs on car, none with the new wheels and fresh prep, and it has about 13inch's over 5ft. stable as ever. Problem is if I take steer out it elevates my none dominate wheel to the point of not touching. Dang 4th wheel touching rule!!!
blah
smile
I guess we will see this weekend how much adjustments I'm going to need to make.

I just picked up the GTX... I had the choice between the Camaro and the GTX, but the GTX just spoke to me and said "I am fast pick me!"
That's what it said to me too. I hope it was right.

My first GTX said " I'm Melting, I'm Melting!!!"
