2015 results are posted!

17th in my first race back. I'm not going to complain about that, be warned I'll be gunning for the top spots in the fire series. I'm pumped and ready to go racing!!!!

I wouldn't say I did terrible for building 3 cars in 1 day. I'm more disappointed in myself for building 3 cars in 1 day. Little tweaking here and there should fix some things /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

I got blown away badly in this race. However, I was really happy to see so many SRs entered. I am hoping we get even more entered in the new "Fire" series starting on May 30th.

For those who have not yet created an SR, but might want to create a car for this class, here is a valuable hint:

The most difficult part in building an SR is attaching the chassis to the body. Most bodies have a curvature on the body sides of those 1/24-25 bodies. This curvature makes it much more difficult to make a simple attachment of the two sections.
I found two car models that are flat in this section of the body, thus making it very easy to join the two sections.

One is a Camaro IROC-Z (1987-1989).
The other is the Camaro Z28 starting in the 1990's.
Of these two bodies, the 1990 Z28 has the best aerodynamics.

On either of these two models, you just add a small piece of wood to the side of the normal PW block, slip the chassis into the body, and secure it with a tiny screw or even just tape. PM me if you need more detailed instructions.

I, too, was thrilled to see so many SR entries. And to see that the racing was so tight at the top. Skippy's GT, D4D's Mustang funny car, Kinser's Vette, and QT's Jag all running strong.

B_Regal - Your Road Runner is awesome.

Bracket - Loved seeing the Atlantic. That is one of the models I've looked closely at and want to build. And the Mustang is sure pretty.

Hurricrane - What is the "Goldschlager"? Looked like an R32 GT-R, but the name would make me think it's a Beemer.

Is QT's "DD4H" W&K's old car? Looks like the R8 didn't like the tuning changes...

D4D - Cool seeing the Black Sunshine back in action (And Redrum was no slouch)

Skippy - Congrats again!

GX, Knotty, TJ, etc. (and the guys listed above) - I'd love to see more of your cars! Show Off Your Street Rods!

SR was a real fun class to race in. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing (I had some pictures from others before MA, but there is no substitute for seeing one in person). Bracketracer and JBD gave me some pointers for future cars (thx guys). Already looking for more models...

WooHOO ! ! ! I was able to stay off the bottom of the deck. /images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif

Now, if I can just get rid of the wiggles, I will be good. Funny thing... Pin wigglers is the name of my bowling team. Pinewood wiggles SUCK ! ! ! Not changing my race team name to Pinewood Wigglers. LOL

Has the Individual Car Statistics from the 2015 Nationals been posted anywhere? I looked for them when the race results were posted but didn't see them.

Street Rod IS a fun class to build and watch! Glad to see a good turnout in that class!

MR HURRiCRANE when you find out why.. Please feel free to post all findings!!/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif or you could just PM me.. Haha!!! AWESOME JOB by the way!!! #NEXTLEVEL!!!!

I had an SS that ran horrible and put up a staggering 3.0149. I'm not even going to mention what it did on successive passes, but given the formula that HurriCrane is using, I should have set the track record by 2 100ths.

It is with a heavy heart that I say "Checked Past" is no longer with us and has moved on to a better place...

I believe they are looking for this from this year (the link I provided is from 2014):
