Who is ready for this year's 2017 Mid America Pinewood Derby - we have been putting a lot of work into the Track - it has been an entire overhaul and it is running GREAT. Things are completely different this year - we are having Pro Racing all day on Friday - Scout, Kid & Adult Racing on Saturday -- Pro Racing will be run only on Friday. Besides an entire overhaul to the Track - Pro's will be racing on the 6 lane "Center Stage" Track - Check in for Pro's will be from 6pm - 10pm on Thursday April 27th - All Proxy Cars will be Tech'd and Checked in at that time also. We (Mid America Staff - myself, Iceman, Derby Chip, Air Cooled, and many others) will be helping run the Pro Racing. Rules and Entry can be found on the website - www.midamericaderby.com - Also we have expanded our Pro Awards and All Finalist will be receiving a Special Mid America Award - currently we are putting 12 cars in the finals in all classes however if a class has less than 36 entrants we will only be racing 6 finalist. Only 1 car per builder will continue on to the finals - Also ALL Proxy Cars Will Be Return Shipped on Monday. Racing will be broadcast live.
Mid America Pinewood Derby is the highest level of competition for a Scout - we are going to be offering the same classes - Open Scout Graphite - Open Scout Oil - Kid Graphite - Adult Graphite - and our Qualified Scout Graphite (those in our Council). We are going to run a Big Rig Race and a Corporate Pinewood Derby Race on Friday event as part of our Corporate Event - Pro's will be provided Lunch and Dinner as part of those in Live Attendance. We will have Great Food - Great People and anyone that Sticks around Iceman will be having a party at his home after things wind down on Saturday. Do not miss the biggest race in the country... looking forward to seeing many of you.
