2018 National Championships!!!

Anyone else having a problem watching the races at midamerica today- what order are they doing the races ? When is open oil race?

All the open classes run on the "Adult" track, I believe. Open kid's graphite is running now, almost done with the prelims. I think the have a final for the top 12. At least they did last year.

Nice thanks- seems like the feed is better right now than the pro races yesterday-

To answer the above question about stock results - I was watching it live and they didn't show the results - we may have to wait until they post it on the website a few days after the races

I was there and I don't remember where anyone placed. I guess I should have wrote it down, but there is just too much going on. I just know I was not first...

It was really nice to meet some of the friendly folks from the forum. Skywalker and Ballastic are top notch guys; I've only talked to them each minimally via PM prior to Nationals and it was nice to meet them. Both are great racers and super friendly people; I'd help either in a NJ minute. It was also nice to see some of the old timers (as I see them anyway): Bracketracer, DerbyDad, Quicktime, Zeeb, and Hurricrane. Aircooled and Derbychip - fantastic to sit and talk to you each. And Greg, what can I say? I'm just in awe that you put together such a great event for us adult juvenile delinquents. Alphonso said he was going to get me, so I'll leave him off the list :D (j/k). I know I'm missing some - not sure who anymore (I'll think of them later, I'm sure). All that I can say is it was just a great group of folks racing!

The comeraderee is why I keep racing...

Hey, don't forget E3PWD and Alphonso! They was there too!
I'm an OLD TIMER now? Yeah, sonny, I use Red Rocket on the feet of my walker.....LOL!
Good seeing all you guys live!

I can fill in some of the blanks for now:
Stock 2.0 was 1-Hurricrane 2-B_Regal 3-Ballistic
RAZR was 1- Pony Express 2- Hurricrane 3- Maglev
MCR was 1-TJ Racing 2- Bracketracer 3- Hurricrane
Please correct or add if I made a mistake or if you caught the other classes!
I remember Skywalker placed third in Pure 2.4, everyone was commenting because he was running modern wheels in a class that allowed modern or NOS......watch out for that guy, he's fast!

I have a question... Who was the person (Shamrock) guy with the 4-leaf clover on his hat?? I really got a kick out of him setting cars on the track 'So Serious' I really enjoyed the race. Would have liked a chance to see all the cars that were entered it would have been fun seeing all the cars on display. One interesting thing I seen was the 'hillbilly' car I would really like to see more 'Show Cars', I would like to have seen more of the things that made this event fun. Show the venders who helped fund this event etc.

Pure 2.4 was 1-Hurricrane (pre-2009) 2-B_Regal (pre-2009) 3-Skywalker (new style whls) 4-B_Regal (new style whls)

Pure 2.4 was particularly interesting for me because I wanted to know how far behind I was having never run new style wheels in a pro race. Let's just say I have a long way to go. Scott is insanely fast!

You definitely do NOT have very far to go. Your new style car was right behind mine, wasn't it?

It was very good to meet so many racers I hadn't met before (DerbyDad, B Regal, BracketRacer, Pony Express, Derbychip, Alphonso Peluso, TJ, Xanthrum, Aircooled to name a few) and to reconnect with some of the guys I'd met in Utah. That's what the hobby is all about to me - having good fun with good people racing these addictive little sticks of wood.

Something went awry with Stock 2.0 on race day. I was surprised to receive that 3rd place trophy at then end of the night. We went back into the results, and there it was. Ballistic was very gracious (and won a ton of other trophies anyway...haha)

Results are posted:

Ha -- yeah that was me... wearing a shamrock hat.. the vendors - that support our event are awesome and instead of funding they provide some really awesome prizes that we give out to our racers - the only companies that fund anything is our Title Sponsor = Gregg Young Chevrolet & my company Academy Mortgage - everything else the vendors provide goes direction to our racers and participants - as it should - in making it something very special.

Greg, Thanks you for all the hard work setting up the event. Well done. I wish I could have been there this year. I will try to make it out to the event with my boys next year.

I really loved that 'Shamrock' hat. Great job Greg, I'll bet you were glad to get home and rest after that long day!!! I had trouble with my video, did anyone else? After 10 hours I'd have trouble seeing straight.
