Thanks for the extra effort. I hope they role
Jup.

Thank you, Jup. That is what I was going for. I wanted to provide some good but simple documentation of the process for newer racers to see. Thought about doing some Youtube videos as well, since all the ones I see on there today seem to be outdated.

Finishing Up:
  1. Wheel and axles were prepped using the DD4H processes.
  2. Got out the scales and played with total weight using tungsten cubes and putty.
  3. Both cars weigh 143 grams, weight is roughly balanced between the rear wheels with about 13 grams on the DFW.
  4. Jig and hater sauce were applied to the axles as the wheels and axles were installed onto the cars.
  5. Next, I hit the tuning table and set both cars with 6" of steer over 4'. I like to start with aggressive steer and then take some out if needed.
-sorry there isn't a lot of good pictures this time around. I will post some results soon.

Results: Not what I was hoping for, but still a good place to work from.
-See the pictures for the individual car times and challenge results.

-Post Race Analysis:
1. I did beat my personal best 2020 State Race time with a time of 2.5032. When I put together these results, I only used times from the official run of both cars. We did have some faster times while testing, the best being 2.5020.

2. The standard deviation of the slower car was 0.0039, the faster car was 0.0053.

3. Because neither of the cars ran what I would consider bad times I didn’t think to look for any potential problems however, after we had finished running the cars, we noticed scuff marks on the NDFW of both cars. Both cars have clearance on this wheel but apparently it was not enough.

-So I have some work to do to improve these cars, but that is always expected.

Not sure what you were hoping for, but it sounds like you made greater strides this year. The cars look outstanding and its a great set of pictures available for someone else to use. If you have access to a track, You might consider popping out the NDFW and see if there is an increase in speed. You might want to cover the fender cavity where the wheel was removed with packing tape to avoid extra drag. Honestly, I race that way (e.g. cover the NDFW with packing tape, just to make the car more areo-dynamic. Not sure how much it helps, but I do it. It cannot hurt...

Thank you, B_Regal Racing, I will definitely give your suggestions a try. I am hoping to make some changes and run them again.

Are there any specific wheel mold numbers you recommend?

Mike-E, no I usually just purchase one extra set so I can pick and choose but the last couple of years I haven't paid much attention to mold numbers. Awana wheels have gotten a little better within the past few years. I remember preparing kits for the church I attended several years ago we had to pull out all the number 12 or 13s because they wouldn't even spin on the axles.

I take it you haven't gotten any wheels from the new supplier. They they switched a year and a half ago. The wheels don't have any mold #'s and they have more runout and terrible hubs. We notice slower times overall this year at our race.

I have been using the ones from the new supplier last year and I like them better than the old ones.
