7/8 from rear.

I recently got some laser cut bodies that have the rear axle cross member cut at 7/8 from rear of car and can fit 3 rows of cubes behind axle. All my other cars are 5/8 and can fit 2 rows of cubes. Has anyone had any luck with the 3 rows behind axle? I am worried about that much weight behind the axle. Any advice what be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So, Ive gotta a chunk o lead about 2.3 oz. behind a scout wheel base car. was planning about a 3/4 Com is that still too much?

It might be. There're a lot of variables there... What's the weight of the body? You can put the balance of the weight further forward to keep the front wheels down, but then you lose the dense weight around the COM, increasing the polar moment. If possible, I'd remove a bit of weight from the rear, and put it at the front of the rear axle, then add the remaining needed weight there.

It'll be a pro style body with fenders. The weight w/o fenders should be less than 14g. Instead of a half inch rear weight pocket, it's 3/4. This particular lead ingot is roughly 1 1/2 x 3/4 by 5/16. weighing in at 2.36 oz. Car won't be any thicker that 3/8. I wasn't particulary concerned until it came up that 3 oz would be too much.
