A big mystery

If you look at the prelims top 20 times in each class in March and compare to top 20 in April, we see that Unlimited had a perfect shift to faster by better than 0.01 sec across the board. The top 7 in Eliminator did the same. BUT__ only a modest improvement in SPRO, and with the exception of one or two cars, all the best SS had slightly worse times. SO, what are your thoughts on what can make the razor wheels run faster while slowing down the 4 wheelers ( and the magic buried wheel design was not hurt as much)?

I don’t have a good answer, but I will say that slight track changes can affect an unlimited car different than a street stock car. So seeing that the one class made a bigger jump than another isn’t surprising. A nailed down track will be very consistent and you will better be able to see the guys that break-out…. like JP in SS and Quick in SP this month. It is easy to tell for those of us with tracks at home and have a baseline of the times. I mean I know how fast JP just ran this weekend. Quite honestly it is scary, but I am glad he is here and pushing us all. The unlimited cars have been consistent for the year I have been racing. It really doesn’t matter what the times are on a certain month…. Just race and try and beat everybody else on the track.

I know my SS was runing about .014 slower when I shipped it this month. It returned from March running a 2.959 to 2.962 on my track. When I shipped it for April it was running a 2.976 consistantly. I tried something that affected the wheel bores in a negative way. I'm moving to a new set of wheels for the nationals. the bottom line is JB's #1 SS is pure perfection!

I would like to give Mad Props to "Pony Express"

That guy is working his tail off testing. He is a perfect example of what hard work and testing will accomplish!

You hit the nail on the head! Those JB/JP cars are freaks of nature(or at least pinewood), but Pony Express is like a man possessed with his jump to the top.

There was a gate adjustment last month in between the SS,SP, and the Eliminator, unlimited. That is way the times are off if you adjust last months SS, SP up by around .010-.013 it will give you the # you are looking for. Jb's would have been running 2.93X if the times were the same as last months!!! INSANE!!!!!

Thank you, Quicktimederby, I feel a whole lot better now. interestingly, the track model redone for this months results actually makes sense. I just had to toss my hands up last month.
Would it be possible to name the preferred wheel of the SP class, or are the top racers all making their own and getting down below the weight of the INTIMID8R ?

Mine is running the Cheetahs. I will have to say my old car is slowing down. So it looks like it will be getting a new set of shoes when it comes back from Mid America.
