Amount of axle degree bend DFW

I have the Derby Work Pro axle bender. I bent my DFW axle at setting 2 (the second line from the top) and I feel that's it's too much bend. The sheet states that #2 is 2 degrees but when I place the wheel on the car it seems extreme. I'm using 93TX stainless. Should I lower the bend collar to #3 and have a .5-1 degree bend instead? Thanks everyone for your input.

Im no pro but always heard 3 to 5 deg is sufficient. You could test with a protractor..just trace out the degrees on a piece of paper and compare. im sure it is but are you sure your drill is a zero deg? i had that same tool sent it back as i used the money to buy a used SB Xtreme and figured would bend my front axels manually.

I usually run mine to the second line on my DW bender... maybe just a tic more, and it turns out to be about 6-6.5 degrees.

I get maybe if you are a one car a year builder... if you build 2 or more, it is so worth it to have a bender... and now, TurboDerby has a cool new, and less expensive, take on bending axles, even if you are only building one car a year. Give it a look...

Is this for the front dominant axle?
