This pin kit is for the old style of The Block (square grooves).

I used a digital angle finder and figured out what diameter of pins I would need to get various angles. This kit includes 6 rods. They are all 6" long so you don't have to worry about the block stability due to only have a 2" pin under it. These 6 rods will produce the following angles:
3, 2, 1.5, 1.0, 0.5, and 0.2 degrees

I also graphed this information so you can quickly determine what size rod or drill bit you would need to put under the block to get any angle inbetween. I'm including the graph also.

The drill bit blanks I bought to make my own kit came in 36" lengths. I made one set for myself and still had enough stock left over to make 4 more kits. I have 3 left to sell, Price is $10 shipping included.

Correct, they would work, but I have no idea what the angles would be. I thought I read the new block includes a chart with the angles...?

Also, the smaller pins in my kit may not work, as it's likely the V-groove is deeper than the square groove.

Does anyone have dimensions on the V-groove or the chart?

I have the V-grooves in mine. I didn't know there was a difference. I take it I need to measure it out for you guys?

For anyone that wants a copy of the graph I made for the Pin Diameter to Block Angle, I now have it available for free on my website!

Note that you have to become a member of my site to download the pdf file, but most already have accounts with webs...

I also have 1 more pin kit left for sale yet.

Due to popular demand (well sort of), I made more pin kits for anyone else that wants one. There are several improvements:

  • I previously tried shipping them cheaply in envelopes w/cardboard but that turned out bad (banana pins). So now I'm only going to ship them in the small priority boxes so they get there safely.

  • I'm also packaging them in a PVC pipe bomb looking thing. It makes for a nice storage container.

  • I'm updating the graph that is included, so the equation will be more accurate than the one I have posted on my website.

  • Pins are approx 7.25" long (slightly longer than the block)
Price has to reflect the changes: $14.85 includes shipping.
PM me for paypal or my address to mail a check either way is fine.

Thanks,
-Jason

Received my Pipe Bomb Pin Set Today! Thanks so much for offering a specialty item at an excellent price. When I originally received the first one I ordered and it arrived like a banana I was bummed out. But the new shipping/storage option is just perfect. If you want to experiment with canting angles this is an awesome package.
