Any last minute advice in terms of graphite?

Yes, it all depends on how many races you have to go and how big your pack is. We have 6 races for the den, 6 for the semi finals and six for the finals. We also ended up racing three more times in an overtime heat. My daughters car had the 4th fastest average overall in the den races, but had the fastest car the rest of the way. By the overtime, other cars slowed a bit, we were just as fast as we had been. And of course we had bad luck in the end! But that’s a whole other story, lol.

I think there's a good chance this was related to the graphite, but a confounding factor in Scout races is that your scouts' cars might have been better in traffic than other cars and it wasn't noticeable in the first six races, because your scouts cars took an immediate lead. I don't feel like you really know how fast the car is until it races against other fast cars.

Sounds like, given the few races we do, I shouldn't overdo the graphite w/o spinning the wheels quite a bit afterwards (as we really have no 'extra' races to break in the car, aside from being able to drop our 1 worst time).

That's absolutely true! Never thought of that. My daughter's race was one of the slowest of the day. I bet that did take into account her times compared to her later fast ones.
