Anyone willing to guess?

Are there any brave souls willing to venture a guess at what a good time for the Governor class will be? Has this been run previously? Any test runs made with cars already built? (hehe) I am planning to build one if I get the extra time.
Although, I understand this is part of the fun with a new class, not knowing...!
hmmm

Hey Bullet,

The horsepower class is awesome ! ! !

When we have our derby at work, a few of the engineers put these things together and WOW ! ! !

The cars are motorized and range from wheels that cant seem to get enough grip to fan powered cars. It really is a blast to watch. The cars pull 1.2 second runs on a 32' track.

We are limited to electric powered vehicles. No gas (CO2) or fuel type propulsion.

Still.... very cool. Even though there are only a few entries for this class each year, it is the most fun to watch.

Gotta be careful entering though. Higher horsepower sometimes equates to higher destructibility, not lower times.

A 2oz. car is pretty light. I thinking 3.7 - 3.9 range.

Steve, I think what John was saying, is that he has a Sub-3 car for this class already, but I could be mistaken if I read too far into his comment. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

If he does have a sub 3 two ounce car, that car will be the winner. I made my prediction of 3.7 to 3.9 based on what my 5 ounce BASX car ran at the last race and it's no speed demon! Anyway it will be interesting to see what the actual times are!

Well, we have quite a range...from sub-3 to 3.08. I plan to start building tomorrow...after thinking about this one, I believe the finer details will matter more here, not like powering down with 5 oz to 42 ft! Should be fun to play with when considering weight placement and steer...another conundrum like the 63-foot track...lol btw, I still didn't really understand the nuance of that one!

My ears perked when I heard the clamor for a brave soul. I apologize for my hiatus. I wish I could turn the clocks anti-clockwise so my mobiles could have frolicked with yours yon year. In my walkabout I fell arse over elbow for this marmy little flower. Her young chap had his mobile race and i built a bloody fast gravity wagon. I did not faff around with this mobile. The john Thomas only had a pittance of coins for weight and still knocked the knows off the other Nancy boys cars. It was the mutts nuts. Perhaps I will enter the little puff in this race. Well I am on the piss so pip pip my snivics.
