Ok Thankfully all supplies came way ahead of time. John's Black Ice polish shipment arrived next day, phew!! as it was coming through as delivering a couple days before check in. Thank you Mr. Halliburton!
So build this year going well but coming back in after a 2 yr break. I am taking a cue from Mike at Reece racing and doing the balsa wood after filling the mosly hollowed out body. Didnt realize the most time consuming part of working with balsa was the every min request from the Tiger scout to karate chop the various 1/4inch blanks i had in my supply!!
As far as rules pretty standard..no moving material amounts from wheels.."an official kit is required" but colored wheels and wheel kits ok. I got a few official 1980s kits to check them out in terms of materials.
Here is the situation..in my scout's den we have a serious contender who won Districts LY, so we dont advance if we lose the rank. We usually win the pack by .03 to .05 so not too worried. But using a new jig this year to compare to the SBE.
Its a 29ft wood track with some miles...i usually post in the 2.34 to 2.37s range.
Thinking 11g on front dom wheel and prob wont have time to test on my track.
Im gonna try to tune the rears.
Any advice or thoughts appreciated.esp on drift.
Thank you in advance!!!
