Axle cant

Hi -Do we still clearance the body on the DFW side a 1/16" when using positive chamber ? We have to run grahite and 'axles slots ' .Should we pack the slot on the DFW side with Graphite and burnish ? We were going to work on this today .
Q3: We have to run stock BSA axles from the kit . Should we still groove the DFW axle ? Thanks for your help !!!

Yes take the body down on the DFW side.

It will make no difference if there's graphite in the slot, it needs to be in the wheel bore and on the axle, you should also burnish it into the body where the wheel hub rubs.

Grove all of the axles, it makes each graphite lubing last longer. We use the sharper end of the three sided file in my needle file set.

I hope this helps. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

Thanks -We cut the DFW side of the blocks last nite , We are doing axles today .
Looks like grooving the axles will be another good project for learning basic lathe operation for my 8 year old .

Probably your best option at this point, as far as the axles goes is to just buy some stock axles from DD4H and pick out the straightest ones. You can get ten axles for just a couple of dollars. before shipping
