You name it, we have tried it.

Don't go to low, it's causes air friction between the track and the car. Plus it might rub the track in the curved section.

1/8" up from the bottom seems to work very well.

I've been using 3/32" to center.

Now, I have seen a previous discussion about this and saw that people drill about 1/8" back with three degree cant, and drill 5/32" fronts because of the opposite canted DFW.

Can someone elaborate on that? Because I have been drilling cars like that... and hope I am not messing up now. LOL

Your still good. I have drilled 1/8" from the bottom in the rear and up to 1/4" higher than the rears(in the front) with very little difference in speed.

Somewhere at 6/32 from the bottom the car really slows for whatever reason. It could be air friction or the roll couple is set too low. Most guys seem to have a concensus of from 3 to 5/32 from the bottom is good to go. We've all tried all kinds of different levels.
