I came across a YouTube video of a wood worker that was polishing up a wood post. Anyways he had a tip I like to know if anyone has tried. So as the post spun on the lathe he sand it smooth 320 grit before moving on to 600 he stopped it and hand sanded up and down (reverse direction of the lathe) so after the 600 lathe sanding he knew when it was completed by the missing reverse sanding marks. is this possible on an axle.
The 2 things I am thinking is 1 would this remove more material then normal and 2 when getting up in the 6000-12000 grit range could you even see the marks on metal
