Axle size?

So what size axles are you all running on your BSA wheel? (91,93)
What size do you like on the aftermarket wheel's? (91,93)

Depends on the prep for me. If I use sandpaper I like the 93's, if I am using just polishes I like 91's.

I think 5j's is the only one that understands the question. So let me rephrase it. For what wheels do you use 91's? For what wheels the 93's? Or do you use something different all together?

And, my answer is both.

Both on BSA and 91's on aftermarket.

My wax/oil process does best with 0.006" of clearance - so if I use a stock BSA wheel, unreamed, and sand my axles, I like 93's. If I use stock BSA wheel, unreamed, and just polish my axle, I like 91's. If I use reamed wheels I won't sand my axles and I use 93's.

So - I use both - but I am looking for 0.006" clearance with my wax/oil process

5js, what do you use to measure the wheel bore size? Getting to .0006" is very impressive.
decimal wrong place in second number

Should be- 0.006" (six thousandths)

I use a set of pin gages, 0.0945" to 0.0990" in 0.0005" increments.

Where do you buy your pin gauges at 5j's?

Vermont Gage

5js, from what I understand the gauge sets can be ordered for difference tolerances. What is the tolerance your gauges are set up for? Thanks in advance for the info.

I bought Class ZZ standard , black-oxide coated ("Black Guard"), made in USA and NIST traceable plus gage pins.

The plus tolerance is not the tolerance of the pin rather it is used to check the plus tolerance of a hole. For example a if I had a hole spec'd at 1.0000" +/- 0.0002" I would use a plus gage to check the plus side and a minus gage to check the minus size.

For our purpose it's really no relevant.

Would anyone happen to know the bore ID on the DD4H Rage Xtremes? I'm assuming its close to 0.096, since the description says the bore is "lightly polished". I ran 91's with them on my last car with excellent results
