Hey Anthony, it’s just level of racers. The newer folks race AM so that they can get their feet wet racing like experienced individuals. That helps new guys to not get discouraged. APR would run an all in time trial heat at the beginning of a stage (2 times a year) and break it up on an amount of time slower than the fastest. They don’t do it now as there are not enough new folks to break it up. Racing AM helped me build a lot of confidence and learn over there. Reecedad here got me racing over there and helped me a lot, even got me to winning a stage and getting single run and 6 run AM average track records.
BASX is one of the most popular classes and all the fast pros race it so it is hard to hang with them at first. But eventually you will learn, speed up and start competing. Reecedad was racing AM when I started and he has since moved up to pro and has won it.
The rules are exactly the same.
