Well we pulled a 1st in Tigers but pulled a 2nd in overall. We got beat by a boughten G-force with lightened wheels. lol Do you say something? It was a wooden 32' track (paintedosi I think) and we pulled the following in the final.

2. 2.733
3. 2.759
4. 2.738

First time for me on a wooden track, wow it seems sooo slow!! The stop section was 3' long with a big piece of foam at the end! LOL (oh and netting around the stop section too!)
We where running BSA 2 Groove Axles (derby Monkey) and John's The Dynasty BASX set of 4 wheels.

The horrors of wooden track stop sections, typically a crash box. At least you had some netting to catch the car...

Congratulations!!!!!! Those short stop sections can be a killer for sure. If you can get the results to me or Greg as we talked about that would be super. My cars for Mid-America are still a work in progress.

Thanks Guys, I was very proud of my son though, he turned toward the boy and said "congratulations!" They didn't give any Trophy's out except the overall fastest which was gigantic!!!!

I thought I could out build light wheels but wow that's tuff!! So I pretty much proved that to over come store bought car and lightened wheels is almost impossible. So what does one do, just run lightened wheels from here on out and keep an extra standard good running set in your car?

Would CheetahV3 wheels be against the rules? They have a dwcent inspection procedure? Our district check in basically just put the cars in a go/no-go box and then the scale. We could have ran about anything if we wanted.

Oh you could just about run anything!!! Heck they were suprised that I had the holes so you could see the Axles ends.

I am thinking of getting the Rage wheels at least for next year, maybe the Cheetahs. I still like to DIY as much as I can. Lathed wheels are something I can't do. I have access to one but don't know if I would have to buy special tooling for it to work on wheels.

What you need to do to beat a g-force.
A. you might have to get down to 3/8" to 5/16" thick, very common for the cars at NPWDRL
B. You might not have the alignment you think you have- buy a drilled sugar pine block and work on drilling skills if you still want to build it yourself. The g-force is just parallel holes, no canting- done correctly you can get 0.03 sec faster for sure.
C. you will need to match the light wheel, so how light did the winner go? 1.0 gr, 1.8 gr?
D. You have a whole extra universe of wheel and axle prep to surpass what ever he had. The good news is any pro or pro wannabe would not screw around with non-canted drilling, so the prep skills are not likely to be in the pro range at all.
You can pick up these skills over the summer and smoke a g-force by a few car lengths.
Good chance to see some really fast cars at MA. See how the best there might have done against the g-force car.

As soon as I swapped out my standard wheels from 2.6/2.4 to (1.4) I was pulling 2.96 to 2.97 and it was running 3.001-3.005 range so I'm thinking my car is setup pretty good. 42' best track
