Well, now that our cars our built for our Pack race, all that is left to do with them is watch them run at our Pack race this Saturday and then hopefully watch my son's car race again at district. However, that leaves us with the building process done. Bummer.

Since we raced at Mid-America last year and had so much fun, I'd like to try it again this year.

My family will submit cars for:

The Scout division (allows oil)
The Kids division (graphite only)
The Adult division (graphite only)

Last year I didn't have optimal wheels or axles. This year I'd like to fix that.

What are the best DD4H wheels and axles that meet the rules for this race? Anybody know?

Here are the rules:

Rather that just buying some sub optimal ones like I did last year, I'm going to check with all you experts first, so my hard earned $ are well spent.

thanks,

For Rules we are looking for the required lettering on the inside and out and the tread must be visable. If your looking for the lightest wheels it looks like the Nitros are the that option and meet rules. Now if that's the best option that's for the experts here to tell you. I was thinking of these wheels for us this year with the 92's with grooves. I would assume the Nitros will need to be run in reverse in the back.

Nitros from John are the lightest wide tread wheels that qualify based on the rules....

I think those can be run in the usual orientation and are sturdy enough not to compress (unlike the intimidator wheels which need to be run reversed) but perhaps John or racers that have actually used those wheels can comment....the description on John's site doesn't say anything about reversed and there is no option to have the wheels cut for reversed running (which usually means shaving down and removing part of the inner hub).

Id go with Nitros and 92x with oil for the open scout and the same for kids and adults but with graphite as per the rules.....or just put cars into the professional league class and go get some of those new razor wheels!!!!

I've ran the Nitros before and they can be run in the standard orientation, not reversed. Combine the Nitros with the 92x axles, as W&K mentioned, you should be good to go.
