Best way to clean the track

Our race is this Saturday. I am helping with set up of the track. What is the best products to use for cleaning the track? Please help me. This track is a 42' Best track is 3 years old and has never been cleaned since coming out the box. Again please help me.

For our track, I clean it with Simple Green. This year I'm going to follow it up with some Pledge.

Hear is how I prep the scout track for our pack and district race.

1) Clean with Simple Green or Glass Cleaner
2) Wipe down with Mr. Clean Sponge
3) Then wipe down with Pledge Multi Surface Cleaner

I always thought everyone just used Windex or alcohol. That's what we've done in the past on our track but this year it will be especially hard to clean after being used outside at a real drag strip leaving it covered in debris from the dragstrip. Good to know.

You guys should have cleaned that track right afterwards. All of the rubber and petroleum from those cars will increase the chance of corrosion. Take if from a guy who has worked with a lot of aluminum on aircraft. The first thing you want to look for is just normal surface corrosion (pitting).

prior to this year someone just rubbed it down with alcohol wipes....this year I went and wiped it all down with pledge and it was the fastest its been in a long time!

Hey Kinser,
I thought I had responded earlier to your post. The guy that owns the track's son used to be in our pack but has crossed over into Boy Scouts. He owns the track and rents it out to other packs/ churches, etc in our area so we weren't around when it was raced outside near a speedway and he doesn't care I guess. He just packs it up and goes. We used the Mr Clean sponge allot last night to get it as clean as we could. My son won pack even though the times were all over the place.
