What is the best wheelbase for a plan style car and a wedge style car. I want as long as possible for stability but also want to have room behind the rear axle to add weight to get a short COM ( i had a very long COM last year). Got my silver bullet in today and want to start with the cars tomorrow night.

5" is very popular.
5" also allows for some room in front of the DFW if you are putting fenders on the front. Get that front wheel up too far and the angle of the fender gets to be too steep. You want a nice gradual angle for a front fender. In my opinion, and I might be totally wrong, I think a longer wheelbase is faster as well as more stable. The problem is.............if you are going to go with front fenders, you can't put them on the car and make them "look" right.

as folks are saying 5" is a nice balance.

Place the wheels all the way back on the car at 5/8" You want the weight as high up as possible on the starting hill. Placing the axles back is the only way to go if the rules allow. This should allow 2 rows of tungsten cubes behind the axle. Make sure to have at leat 3.6 ounces of added weight. More is better and keep the weight as close to the rear axle as possible.
