Gulfport Ms.
Billy and Bubba needs the Legends of Speed knowledge. With Bubba's OCD issues he's always wide open throttle, in a hurry and augured Billy to a stand still. When using oil how far in advance of a final
assembly should Jig be applied to the axles ? This is a big deal because Billy and Bubba have a sack of Crawfish bet on this one !!

Good question. I’ve done it both ways, dipping the axles into the jig, spraying them, and then going back to dipping them. Now, I just spray them 3-4 times at different angles.

Apply jig and wait 15 minutes before assembly seems to be the most common answer.

I apply jig and put into a block and into a Tupperware container until final assembly. Not sure if this is the right thing to do. One of the fast guys could confirm.

Brilliant metal polish.
It has very small grit so it's not counter productive when you are going for that mirror finish.
We use it at the boat yard for stainless hand rails & galley stuff. It's not supposed to leave a residue.
I still wipe down with invisible glass cleaner to be sure.

If I'm using stock type axles I'll hit them with some polish first to see what I'm dealing with.
That helps save some size "sometimes"
The vendor axle are almost good to start with.
