ATTENTION FELLOW BUILDERS IT'S TIME FOR BILLY TO GIVE BACK. Billy the not so dumb Red Neck has gained so much from this forum he wants to share an astounding find. As you know in the world of PWD where grams can make or break weight compliance, in an emergency a Penny can make the difference. The 1982 and older Pennies tip the scales at 3.11 grams vs their light weight counterpart 83 and newer come in at a measly 2.5 grams. In Billy's never ending world of getting by with a merchandise received for money spent mentality he commenced to digging thru his hundreds of Pennies in his 1 gallon former pickled hogs feet jar. Apparently there's something special about the 82 D stamped Penny that makes it desirable to the coin collector. A google search states they can be worth anywhere from $100.00 to $20,000.00 with an extremely rare stamping, according to an article by CNBC, worth a whopping $200,000.00. Upon finding Billy unconscious, laying in his pile of hundreds of Pennies we revived him and he said "put out the fire and call the dogs" . Any Red Neck worth his salt knows that means it's time to pack up and head to the house. What had happened was Billy had discovered 3 of the 82 D stamped and still had hundreds more to go thru. He couldn't wait to pack up and head to the local coin shop for an appraisal. Check your change fellow builders even a blind hog like Billy can find as acorn every now and then. Billy says thank you for your continued support and as always be sure to tip your waitress.......RRR
EDITED ADDENDUM: Upon Further Review there are 8 different stampings of the 82D. Depending upon when it was stamped and at what mint it was stamped can make a difference in both weight and/or worth. But you never know how you look till you get your picture took. This has been a free public service announcement.....RRR
PS....For your viewing pleasure Billy asked me to offer those of you, that may be remotely interested in the possibility of stumbling into a small fortune, this extremely boring but very informative 12 minute 45 second vid he saw during one his many over night sleep overs at the Nervous Hospital. It's his desire that this may help you find that ever elusive pot at the end of the rainbow. Pardon the British accent in the vid. Billy is totally oblivious as to why a Brits-man should be concerned about American coinage. He thought we'd wrapped that one up with the signing of the Treaty of Paris September 3, 1783 and thru the co-operation of an extremely humbled King George III was ratified April 9, 1784 !!
