Gulfport Ms.
Billy, the not so dumb Red Neck feels he owes the Forum an apology. He understand's this is a serious Forum that includes some of the fastest PWD racers on the planet that have devoted their all into R & D trying to get every .001 possible. He also knows he's gotten on the last nerve of some of them with his shennagians and for that he extends his heart felt apology. Certainly not making excuses or asking for sympathy but Billy's caught a tuff break. Having had the misfortune of working with too much asbestos, smelting and pouring lead and spraying pesticides in the 70's before the industries finally came clean about their products health hazards. Those hazards have caused a linty of health issues of which Billy's now paying the price for those industries arrorgance. He no longer trusts himself behind the wheel nor does he trust his unstable reflexes and trembly hands to use his scroll saw, band saw or drill press. He's had to rely on friends or relatives over the last couple of years for the template cutting and drilling or routering of the major weight holes/pockets. Billy completes his builds sitting in his recliner or at his breakfast table.

Having said that, Billy spends his days inside for the most part, or at he Dr's office and being part of this forum is actually the highlight of his day other than family and friends that drop by for a visit. He's always been full of foolishness and enjoy's giving someone something to smile about. Some on the forum have PM him saying how much they his enjoy his nonsense but he's also aware of a recent poll "Have You Had Enough Of Billy's Red Neck Posts". Billy did not cast a biased vote in his behave nor did he do a backdoor deal by PM some of his buddies on the forum for help with a positive vote in his favor. The vote was Forum 7...Billy 2 obviously a landslide for the Forum. Billy can also be serious and will begin to do more of that in the future. But the knife cuts both ways and sometimes he just can't help himself. However, he will try his best to make that less frequent, but in a world with so much negativeity and a dog eat dog mentality what's wrong with a little clean humor ? The answer is nothing, but even Billy knows too much can be too much.

One of Billy's regrets, even though having achieved a certain level of success in yesteryears methods, is that he was too busy when co-owning an auto supply/speed shop and operating his Custom Performance Exhaust Shop and not making his kids AWANA car's as fast as possible. That was many moons ago (actually 24 years) and he's now drug his old build bag out of moth balls and is building for his only Grandchild. Using his old techniques and methods it did't take him long to figure out how much things had changed. In Billy's neck of the woods it's okay to be a Red Neck but you don't necessiarly have to be a dumb one. In 2018 his Granddaughters car was an also ran. In 2019 Billy knew something had to change so he figured a way and she made the final 4. But in the recent 2020 race, thru the help of this forum, and certain members of this forum (you know who you are) Red Neck Racing was able was able to take 1st in speed by a wide margin while setting a new all time track record on a 42' Computer Timed Best Track that's been in use for nearly 10 years. To borrow and modify Paul Newman's closing remark in the The Color of Money...Red Neck Racing's back.

In closing, Red Neck Racing is looking forward to the possibility of shaving another 10th or 2 off the new record by simply applying some newer techniques, tips and products provided by Pinewood Derby Online. Hopefully all will accept Billy's apology and it's coats off to the past and sleeves rolled up for the future.....As always.......RRR

You gotta build a car and send it and race it so you can achieve those 10ths. I promise you’ll get faster. And you’ll have more questions that folks will help you with. This is the best place

When I first started racing, I had a chance to go to mid-america and meet some of the people I was racing against. I knew I liked to build, but I really did not know the community. I had the opportunity to meet many racers, some of which are still around today (Chief is one of them). What I truly admired was the camaraderie I experienced. While at mid-america, I met MXQuad, and like the name says, he raced quads as a hobby. He was also handicapped, but so many rallied around him to help him race, it was unbelievable (something I admired ever since in this hobby). I have no doubt that if you needed help, you'll find those here will extend their services to you. No worries - those who do not want to read your posts can skip them. And if you need help, give me a shout. Billy can shake around like a hot mess, but if you want to race, we'll help you get going. Even if you don't, its great to have you mill about.

See, I knew you've been around the block a bit....

TRE.....you're right some puds ain't fast. Apparently you are and Billy's happy for you and wish you continued success. The other day when you said "can I call you a menace" perhaps, no obviously Billy was a menace. But you took your reply down and Billy thought that was a classy move and he appreciated it. He's had people PM him saying they enjoyed his foolishness but It's quiet apparent there's more don't than do. It's obvious you have no interest in any thing he has to say, but it's also apparent you must have read some of it. So something peaked your interest thus your above comment. Billy's given a heart felt apology to those he's been bothersome including yourself. At this point you have some options and please use at your digression. You can accept Billy's apology and y'all can be buds, heck you could even give him some tips to help him get faster. You can decline his apology and he'll still be your bud. Or you can click on his avatar, choose ignore and he'll be out of your life and won't be messing up your day forever. Or you can do nothing at all. Like PO replied under the poll, It's your choice. Because either way, it's fine with Billy. Wishing you the best.......RRR

Yep, Billy knows a thing or two because he's seen a thing or two. (seems like he heard that somewhere) He ain't your average Red Neck. Thanks for the out reach and Billy's gotta ja handle and and will give you a ring. But Billy's already gobbled up so much on this forum he's like the feller what ate too much at the Family Reunion. He found a shade tree and sat down against the truck, flipped off his overall straps and said"breath, you can come and go as you please cuz that's alright by me........Thanks Bud.......RRR
