Please click pics below. While walking amidst the Land of Living Legends of PWD Billy is humbled and has learned so much he hopes to one day give something back. In the world of PWD where every speciality tool has been made or will be made here's something he whipped out in a few minutes. Probably been done and seen before but if not it's his desire that it may be of use to someone.
Needed Items:
A scrap piece of sheet metal , shears, straight edge, pencil, gloves or shop towel and a shop vise. Cut each piece of sheet metal wide enough to be stable but narrow enough that you can put a tab of tape over the axle slots or holes if the slots remain intact. With the straight edge and pencil draw a line at you're desired bend location. Place short end of sheet metal in the vise with the pencil mark even with the top of the vise. Using the ball of your hand with a glove or shop towel for cushioning slowly push until you've achieved your desired angle.
PRO'S: Inexpensive
Stable when properly made
Quick & Easy
Can be used with axle holes if axle slots remain intact
No underbody hole to fill or cover as with some other popular methods
Works best with spray method of choice
CON'S: Must step around to cover both sides
Can't paint bottom if desired without letting dry and flip over
Care when using brush method
Not applicable without axle slots
