Question: Should the Hershey Bar be the design of choice when competing in the entry level NPWDRL ?

Watching old Bruce Lee movies Billy began thinking about his Granddaughter competing in the NPWDRL. Engrossed in the movies he got a hankerin' for a Hershey Bar. But with the Chinese Ku Fu Flu his local Convenience, Live Stock Feed and All Night Video Rental Store closed early. So he settled for mustard and biscuits.

Can other designs be considered at the entry level of NPWDRL level ?

The fastest cars are thin cars. That being said, there's other things that you have to get right ( alignment, axle prep, and wheel prep ) before aero is the big difference maker. So work on those things, build what you want, and have fun seeing how fast you can get it to go.

Thanks for the info Darkside. Here's a design Ive had success with at the AWANA level where you're limited to using only the junk parts in the kit. We set a new track record on a 10 year old 42' Best Track and timing software using it at this years Grand Prix. Fixing all the things i had wrong plus all the prep ad speed tips I've learned here since the Gp with being able to run some good parts. I want to give her my best feel confident using a candy car we should be able to compete in the BASX AM class.

The wheels will not be legal. I believe you have to use BSA wheels with all of the markings, less the tread bumps.

Awana wheels are not legal in Basx Am at Npwdrl. Awana axles would comply.

Thanks L2. The older AWANA axles were fairly decent. I ordered a 10 pack directly from AWANA recently and they “looked “ like the old style.

BTW Billy spent another session in the Cath Lab yesterday due to big time chest and left arm pain. Everything’s fine with his heart just gotta find cause of his pain ????

They are in the rules but most AWANA wheels are 2.0-2.1 grams brand new which would make them too light.

In NPWDRL there is, but I never thought Awana wheels were legal in the BASX class in the NPWDRL.

Ok, original post said Npwdrl and Am class. They don't allow Awana wheels. I think I'm tracking now.

Just send a car into derby online "pro". The link is on the home page.
It's pretty much run what you brung.
All you need to be looking for at this point is a base line, then you can go back and figure out how "Smokey" would address the situation.
